Sales tax on a contract
Den här sidan är inte översatt ännu, så du läser den engelska versionen.
Who collects it, where it sits in the price, and what CollabNordic does not do.
We do not collect or file tax on your behalf
No withholding, no returns, nothing sent to an authority in your name. Whether you charge tax, at what rate, and what you owe afterwards is between you and the authority you are registered with.
CollabNordic is a marketplace. The creator is the one selling, so the creator is the one who collects sales tax and passes it on. We show it, we put it on the contract, and we do not touch it.
Where tax sits in the price
Three numbers, added in this order.
- Your price. What you set, and what reaches you.
- Sales tax, if you are registered. Your rate, applied to your price.
- The platform fee, on your price only.
The brand pays all three. You receive the first two and pass the second onward.
| Line | Amount | Who ends up with it |
|---|---|---|
| Your price | 4 000 | You |
| Sales tax at 25% | 1 000 | You, to pass on |
| Platform fee at 10% | 400 | CollabNordic |
| Brand pays | 5 400 |
The figures above are an illustration, not a quote. Your rate comes from your own registration and the fee depends on where the work came from.
The fee is never charged on tax
The platform fee is calculated on your price and nothing else. Tax is not part of the base it is worked out from, so you never pay a fee on money you are only holding for the authority.
The rate itself depends on how the work arrived. Work you brought in yourself, through a proposal you sent, carries one flat rate because you found the client. Work that came through the marketplace, a campaign or a package booking, follows the brand's subscription tier. Pricing has the current numbers, and it is the page to trust: the rates are settings, and a figure repeated in a help article is a figure that goes stale.
Whether you should be registered
This depends on your country and how much you turn over, and it is not a question CollabNordic can answer for you. The pattern is the same almost everywhere: below a threshold you may stay unregistered, above it you must register, and crossing it is usually backdated rather than forgiving.
Register with your own authority, then turn the setting on in Settings → Company. Nothing about your existing contracts changes; new ones will carry tax from that point.
Thresholds and rates change, so check yours rather than trusting a number in a help article. Your authority is the one that decides.
What the brand sees
The full breakdown is on the contract and on the receipt: your price, the tax, the platform fee and the total charged. Both sides see the same document.
A brand registered for sales tax can usually reclaim the tax they paid you, so the real cost to them is your price plus the fee. That is worth knowing when a brand queries a quote that looks larger than the number you discussed.
If you are not registered
Your prices are quoted and charged as they are, with no tax line, and the contract says so explicitly. Nothing about this changes once a contract is signed: the tax treatment is fixed at the moment the contract is created, not recalculated later.
Everything here describes how the platform handles tax. It is not tax advice. Rules differ by country and by situation, and a question about your own position belongs with an accountant or your tax authority.
